I recently received a video clip from social media that showed someone giving injections to cattle in the hip. Regardless of animal age or type, injections should never be given in the hip. This can reduce the value of steaks and other cuts from this area.
If you know someone who posts videos showing practices that are not in line with BQA best management practices, please encourage them to remove these videos. From a BQA standpoint all intramuscular injections should be given in the neck. The neck is the best option for subcutaneous injections as well.
