Dewormers (aka anthelmintics) are an important part of a preventative herd health program for many cattle operations. When using dewormers it is critical to check the label to make sure products are being administered according to label directions.
Slaughter withdrawals can vary between injectable and pour-on products of the same brand. Some topical products are flammable, which is important to be aware of when branding cattle.
One injectable dewormer is not labeled for breeding bulls or cattle managed in feedlots or under intensive rotational grazing. Another product is not labeled for breeding bulls over 1 year of age.
